In 1995, Dr. Randall Williams, a practicing cardiologist, saw a need for a new, innovative complex chronic condition management model that supported dramatic clinical and financial performance improvement. He envisioned a model that enabled and facilitated provider engagement in care coordination; improved the physician/patient relationship and shifted the paradigm from episodic, reactive and human resource-based interventions to a daily, proactive and technology-based solution.
Finding nothing like this commercially available, Dr. Williams built Pharos Innovations. Pharos assists clients – health care providers and payers – to achieve next generation clinical and financial performance improvement. - One of the seven wonders of the ancient world, the Pharos Lighthouse was the very first known lighthouse.
Situated on the island of Pharos in the harbor of Alexandria, Egypt, it stood for more than 1,500 years as a constant beacon to identify a great commercial center and safely guide ships and their passengers to its shores. Today, there is a lighthouse at the edge of nearly every large body of water around the globe, and “pharos” has come to“lighthouse” in many languages.
We chose Pharos as our company name to reflect our mission as a guide for a challenged health care system, watching over our clients and participants in order to better inform their care decisions and foster improved quality, outcomes and financial performance. Like the lighthouse, Pharos Innovations’ technologies are elegantly simple and straightforward, ubiquitous and effective. Yet, while all lighthouses have much in common, each is architecturally and historically unique.
